Accredited training with Polyco

Hands up if you’ve ever been unsure which is the right hand and arm protection for you?

Nowadays there is dizzying array of hand and arm protection products to choose from. But do you know which ones are right for you and your business? Which ones provide the best defense against injury? Knowing which products are the correct ones for a particular role or task is vital, so at Polyco our goal is to arm you with the expertise to pick your gloves with confidence.

Polyco’s ‘Assessing Hand Protection’ course is the first (and ok, we’re going to say it) the best on the subject, to be accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The one-day course is designed to provide health and safety professionals and other duty holders involved in selecting the most appropriate hand protection with the priceless knowledge they need and to give them the confidence and knowledge to navigate this often complicated process.

The course is delivered by health and safety expert and former IOSH president Gerard Hand so you know you are in safe hands…literally. Gerard isn’t the only expert though; he is ably assisted by our very own technology director Bernard Garvey.

 So how does it work?

The highly interactive course is made up of 9 sessions, which alternate between theory and practical group exercises. We believe the more ‘hands on’ you are with products the better understanding you have of which ones are right for your particular business needs.

During the day we cover a number of topics including:

  • Legislation
  • CE Marking
  • Types of hand protection
  • Materials used- pros and cons
  • Manufacturing methods
  • Hand protection polices

The course is held at Polyco’s headquarters in Enfield, Middlesex and everyone who attends will have the opportunity to take a tour of our own UKAS accredited facilities, as we love showing exactly what goes into what we make.
